Meyer Assoulin, a native New Yorker, began his career over 35 years ago working with his father at an antique and jewelry store called The Art Spectrum.
After six tears of living in California, Assoulin decided to return to his roots in New York and continued to sell fine jewelry and antiquesto his loyal client base from California.
Due to Assoulin's reputation, he was invited by Donald Trump's offices to open a boutique at the legendary Plaza Hotel in 1990. Thus was born Maurice, a store exclusively dedicated to his own designs and creations. Named after Meyer's son, Maurice became the home of Assoulin's exquisite jewelry boutique at The Plaza. offering trademark multi-faceted diamond and colored stone pieces with an emphasis on quality and style. The hotel closed for renovations in 2005, ending a successful 15 year run. In the three-year interim, Assoulin traveled the country and globe searching for precious gems and diamonds that would befit his gorgeous designs.
